So you might be aware that, at the moment, #proudofthebbc is a trending topic on Twitter (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23proudofthebbc).

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say one reason why I'm particularly proud of the BBC.

The BBC brought back Doctor Who in 2005.

If it wasn't for them bringing back Doctor Who, I would never have discovered Doctor Who fandom.

If it wasn't for Doctor Who, there would be no Torchwood.

If there was no Doctor Who or Torchwood fandom, I wouldn't have met many of you.

I wouldn't have been introduced to Top Gear, and have met those of you that I know through the Top Gear fandom.

I wouldn't have met urawrd, and be introduced to the BBC Radio 1 fandom.

I wouldn't have met aquirkofmatter, and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have discovered The History Boys.

Which means I'd never have felt compelled to watch everything that Jamie Parker has ever done.

And I'd certainly never have watched an episode of Silent Witness, purely because he was in it, and then I'd never have gotten addicted to Silent Witness. And I've never have met the Tomsharers.

So basically, what I want to say is that, thanks to the BBC's output, I've met some of the best people I could ever want to meet. You guys are brilliant and I've met you all thanks to the BBC. And for that, I am so so proud of the BBC

Imagine not knowing who Comedy Dave is! That'd be so rubbish! Also, without TG, I'd never have met Han, you, Beci and loads of amazing people! I heart the BBC so very much. <3
